Pues thanksgiving just flew by!!

My sister and my friends from college came to visit. My brother did too. I love just hanging out. We spent the day cooking the traditional meals that we came to love from living in the states. Erica, Lina and Allie helped me and my mother.

Man after looking at food all day, i felt like i had been eating all day :-). Im really excited to have them here and to have a good thanksgiving day! My plan was to try a little bit of everything and just enjoy the company.

Hope you enjoyed your day as well!

"Anticrisis Menu"

Yes, there is such a thing. I found this fun story on Univision.com today as I was learning my daily headlines and I thought i would share it with you. This goes specially to my Latin team, Vero and Lina, they are Spanish natives who am sure will be drooling over this story.

In the north of Spain (Asturias), there is a small local resturant call "Sidrería de Gijón " that offers the right combination of food for its clients during times of crisis like the ones we are going through now. This restaurant offers one complete menu once a week for 1 euro, which is about $1.25, which they call their "Anticrisis Menu". Now how many of you would go out to eat everyday for that price here???...i have my hand in the air too ;-).

The menu starts with a seafood soup, the choice between rice with rib meat or salad with anchovy, in addition to a slice of bread, a drink and dessert. The resturant used to serve about 6 complete meals a day, with this offer they now serve about 200 a day. In Spain, a typical meal like this one would cost about 10 times that, about 10 euros or $12 dollars.

And let me tell you, when I was in Spain, a typical meal included about four dishes of food, plus bread, and wine and usually lasts about 2+ hours. Seafood is a main dish is Spain, I had the luxury to try real Paeya and Jamon (ham), you have no idea how much I would love to eat that right now :-).

Time Flies

I'm sitting here at work and I'm bored out of my mind.

"Well do something you may say", but there is really nothing to do.

Right now im working part time at a computer lab that provides any kind of pc training. Interesting right? yes and no. For the students that come and get training, yes, for me who just assist the lab, no. I have prevented my self from falling asleep a couple of times and checked my email account more than i can count with no inbox msgs. But no worries at least i get time to blog and get this think tank rolling!!!

I'm am sitting here thinking how time goes soooo fast, its already November and its Voting Day (which i hope you already went and filled out your ballot or are planning to do so soon). Its been exactly 3 months and 4 days since i officially finished school and i can't believe it. I got a degree in marketing and advertising with an emphasis in business. Ya and I am still looking for my career break to come soon!! I went to Guatemala to visit family, bought my first official car, help mother with her cleaning business, my bf started the fire academy (yes ladies he is a fire fighter!!), started learning how to play the piano, visited twin2 at school, celebrated mom's bday (which happens to be on Halloween), and now its voting day.

I was thinking, since today is such a memorable day, I wonder how many people will take the time to take it all in. I been having a constant struggle to define what my purpose is in life? what is my path? how do i find it? and i find myself frustrated at times. But now I sit taking everything in and thinking what is Obama or McCain thinking about? how do they define their purpose in life? aside from fundraising and accusing each other. After over a year of advertising, speaking at public events, appearing on debates, and shaking the hands of many followers, do they realize today will define their role for the next four years. Everything they said, they promised, now has to be put to work. Its hard to even know now what each stands for anymore, so many influences from 3rd parties have shift their campaign slogans and frankly confuse the heck out of me. You have to trust the basic issues at hand and be educated to go out there and vote. I hope you all have done that. There is nothing worst than voting for something you have no idea what it is about. And I guess it comes down to the same question I ask myself, what is my purpose? what is our purpose?
