If you were not aware, Ashton Kutcher had this race going on Twitter against CNN to see who could reach 1 million followers by today. The race started as just fun but it turn out to be a huge campaign to raise awareness for Malaria No More, an non-profit organization in NY with a purpose to end deaths caused by the disease in Africa.
Today was his deadline and he made it! The bet was to donate 10 thousand nets to fight Malaria. He also donated $100,000 to the Malaria No More Fund.
Way to go to all those Twitter peeps! I give you props Ashton!
Check this video out Twitter posted on their blog.

Happy Earth Day!
Hope you are enjoying the earth today. Take a deep breath and record the image of the beautiful views we are provided on a daily basis.
Using less and saving more is my goal.
It seems though people are still not getting the fact that we need to care, do our part in order for our earth to survive. The air, the animals that exist, the plants and trees, the water and the people all fall under this earth.
I am taking responsibility to help preserve where I live. At home, I have all the lamps unplugged, all radios, TVs and clocks in the rooms that don't get much used unplugged as well. My family and I recycle everything we can. I also love leftovers! it means i get to have food for the rest of the week and I am not wasting. I try to use less paper on a daily basis, I have a recycle pile at work that I take home to put on my recycling bin. I also buy items made from recycled materials. Small things like these will definitely make a difference.
Companies are aiming for that trend too. They are focusing on their environment conscious audience and at the same time changing their ways as well. They are sending a message.
For some Earth Day widgets, tips or games Jamster has some pretty cool ones.

Happy Holy Week to all Catholics!
Today is the second day of Holy week, the last week of lent. Catholics take time to remember the passion and death of Jesus. Church traditions take place focusing on the last week of his life. All those who fast or made a promise to change their lives, this week is the time to evaluate your progress and continue in the good path. Good Friday symbolizes when Jesus was arrested, had his trial, was crucified, suffered, died and was buried. Usually during lent all images, sculptures and crosses in a church are covered throughout lent specifically on this holy friday. The last days of the week are to observe his death and no communion given either. Holy Saturday is the day Jesus rested on his tomb. Easter Sunday celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, the end of Holy week. Churches are aslo decorated with white colors right before sunrise on sunday.
I remember when I was little, we get up really early to drive to la Antigua, Guatemala, to help decorate the streets with massive beautiful and colorful carpets made of flowers, seeds, sand, lights, and other miscellaneous items. While we kids kept busy tossing pedals, my godparents looked for the perfect spot to watch the Procession, a parade of gorgeous floats.
Here is a picture of the carpets that decorate cities accross Latin America.
Here is a picture of how the streets are during the Procession.
My godparents set up chairs and place our baskets full of snacks for us kids. The smell of incense and people dressed in purple and black gowns surrounded the streets. This is a huge tradition in Latin American countries, where the Catholic religion practiced by majority of the population. No one goes to school or work on Friday. The food is also great. Specially at small towns and villages. You can find all kinds of traditional dishes for very cheap. Check out some videos of Easter celebrations.

President in Europe!
I am so excited President Barack Obama and his wife got the privilege to meet Queen Elizabeth II and his consort Prince Phillip today as part of their 8 day European visit. After a day full of press and important government matters including attending the G20 meeting and seeing guest like Dmitry Medvedev of Russia and Hu Jintao of China.
I remember when I went to Europe and saw the changing of the guards. There were thousands of people standing outside the palace just waiting to see the guards do their thing. There were different groups, some on horses and others that march and another group with musical instruments. Definitely a performance very well coordinated. Now I can only image the size of the crowd today to see many leaders entering the Buckingham palace.
Obama's next stops in Europe will be in Strasbourg, Prague, Ankara, and ending in Istanbul, Turkey.
